Purifiers
(Also referred to as the Vigilant Order, Vigili, Holy Judges and Inquisitors.)
The watchful eyes of the Judicare Order, charged with uprooting threats from within and without the Ministry of Light.
Agnes of the Miserichord
Our Lady Most Vigilant

Genus: Mage
Clan: Nephandus -- Celestial Chorus
barabbi
The most crucial among the Purifiers, it is her edict to which all Purifiers and Castigators must yield.  This report on her and her ways would be more conclusive if not for the bothersome frequency with which those who probe too deeply into the Most Vigilant's past become stricken with grave--and at times even terminal--cases of catatonia.  Suffice it to say that she keeps her history well-guarded...and if what she doesn't mind revealing about herself is so horrid and disturbingly inhumane, then one can only wonder how much more heinous are the details which she keeps to herself.
Eretrael / Candace Jones
Aide and Counsel to Agnes of the Miserichord

Genus: Demon
House: Defiler
The fallen angel Eretrael swam the oceans when the world was young.  Now only recently released from the Abyss, Eretrael was called forth into the body of Candice Jones, a prostitute whom Agnes sacrificed and fashioned into a carnal host for the demonic summoning.  Thus far, the Purifier does not seem to know that her bonds over the demon are not absolute; Eretrael can come and go as she pleases yet painstakingly maintains the guise of slavery when called.  It cannot be said which is fooling the other, for if the Most Vigilant is aware of the subterfuge, she does nothing to reveal this.  And though the Defiler claims to be crafted from divine hands, she has yet to reveal which god that may be....
Gabriel Fleurent
Purifier General

Genus: Mage
Breed: Nephandus -- Cult of Ecstacy
barabbi
A most proficient gamemaster, second in the Vigilant Order only to Agnes of the Miserichord.  Stemming from his Ecstatic roots, he harbors an intense fixation with torture and honestly believes that he does his victims a favor through such barbarism, claiming to offer them wisdom and insight as he plunges them into the depths of agony.  Hence, even a repentant and compliant subject can expect no swift end to the torment.  Little else is known about the Purifier General due to his habit of planting a wall of Castigators and lesser Purifiers between himself and any opposition he might face.
William O'Duggan
Purifier Prelate

Genus: Werewolf
Tribe: Black Spiral Dancer -- fallen Fianna
Theurge
After falling to the dark side, William O'Duggan emerged from the Black Labyrinth bearing the name "Gurkurmanra" but has since reverted to his birth name for the sake of what he perceives as professional bearing.  He earned his position after the late Prelate Rankin--seeing the underling O'Duggan as a rival to his authority--trapped him in a concrete room and filled it with mustard gas; returning to witness his handiwork two days hence, Rankin ventilated the room, opened the door and was promptly eviscerated by the werewolf's claws.  Little is known about O'Duggan except that all attempts to poison him have failed, thus warranting more brazen ways to depose the Prelate.
Mr. Kriffer
Purifier Prelate

Genus: Wererat
Aspect: Knife Skulker
The stealth and agility with which Prelate Kriffer darts about gathering information is complimented only by his burning thirst to carve away the overpopulating human masses.  Born a rat and gifted with shapeshifter blood, Mr. Kriffer rankled at the hypocrisy with which humans curbed rat populations through strychnine yet did nothing to thin their own herds.  To him, the Ministry is a means to an end; If the human populace cannot be killed off, then they must at least be controlled.  Towards this unwholesome end, Mr. Kriffer continues to serve the Purifiers as a sneak and a spy without peer.
Kimberly Newland
Purifier Prelate

Genus: Mortal -- Bystander
A rarity among any touched by the Messengers, Kimberly Newland received the chance at the Imbuing but turned away, frightened at the prospect of grappling with all the world's monsters.  But she later experienced a change of heart and came to see the Ministry as a second chance...at first for the duty of fending off the Ministry's paranormal foes and then--once convinced of the futility of saving the world--for nothing more than a simple paycheck.  Part of her has even begun to agree with the Ministry: That the only way to cure society of its ills is to destroy society itself.  And her Second Sight has proven most useful for thwarting supernatural resistance to this ideal.
